Mr Kaspars Gerhards, Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia

Kaspars Gerhards was appointed as Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia in November 2014. The Ministry is responsible for implementing policy in three areas – environment protection, regional development as well as information and communication technologies (information society and e-government).
Previously Mr. Gerhards held the positions of Minister for Economics and Minister for Transport and Communications; he also served as State Secretary at the Ministry of Economics for 8 years.
