Experienced in public-private collaboration, regional development and cross-border cooperation. Among other topics, responsible for BDF’s activities within ICT and the digital economy in the Baltic Sea Region. Torben has been Director of Regional and Innovation Policy and Head of Research Dean’s Office at Copenhagen Business School. Before that Deputy Director and Acting Director at Danish-Swedish Öresund Committee for cross-border cooperation. Currently teacher of history, social sciences and physics in Sigulda City Seconday School since 2011. He is alumni of “Mission Possible” – Teach for All network organization. Actively interested in modern technology and innovations for education. To share experience and methodology works as trainer for teachers. One of Microsoft Latvia projects “Gatavi rītdienai” trainers, have been teacher in Samsung Latvia “Skola nākotnei”, E-Twinning and other projects. Marc Durando, Executive Director of EUN has over 20 years’ experience in the field of education and training, both at European and national level. He has worked in the education and training area since 1983, where, after five years in the field of continuing education for enterprises, he developed specific expertise on European cooperation in the field of education and training. Maksims Jegorovs is Country Lead for Accenture Latvia since 2006. In this capacity Maksims has driven growth from a 250 person business to the largest IT company in Latvia of close to 600. Maksims started professional career 17 years ago as a software designer. Today, his experience ranges from software design, complex system delivery projects to software service sales and marketing. Maksims holds a MsC in Computer Science. While working as an IT consultant and later project manager, his specialization was billing solutions. Adel Mojtahedi, Coordinator of IT-guide has 4 years´ experience in the field of ICT education and training for seniors and young immigrants in Sweden. He is a Civil Engineering student at Chalmers University and he has been working and shaping It-guide since the beginning at 2010.
Enter Sweden has developed a social innovation that is called It-guide ®. They have started telecentres in Sweden where young immigrants help senior citizens with Internet and everything there is to know about computers and mobile telephones. Gabriel Rissola joined Telecentre-Europe, the European network of digital learning & empowerment centres, as Managing Director in 2012. He is also Partner and Associate Researcher at D-O-T, a research & consulting firm he co-founded in 2006. He has a degree in Informatics, academic education in Philosophy and Psychology and wide professional experience in international environments, including positions as Senior Researcher at JRC-IPTS, one of the 7 European Commission’s in-house scientific centres (2010-2012), Evaluator of European grant proposals (2004-2010) and external Senior Consultant for United Nations agencies (FAO, UNITAR) (1990-2009). Lieve Van den Brande is a Principal Administrator at the European Commission, Directorate General Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Inclusion (EMPL). She is responsible for issues related to skills development such as “validation of non-formal and informal learning” and “competency frameworks and assessment tools for transversal skills for employability (e.g. digital competences, entrepreneurship and languages). The past years she has been responsible for ‘ICT for learning’ both from the angle of digital skills as well as from modernisation of education through technologies and OER, both in terms of policies as parts of the Erasmus+ programme. She holds a Ph.D. in educational sciences from the University of Liège (Belgium) and has several degrees in education, psychology and teacher training. See more…
Anita Zorgenfreija is Education Program Manager at Microsoft Latvia.
Working for Microsoft’s global initiative Partners in Learning Anita is helping students receive the education they deserve, by focusing on enabling educators and education leaders to best use technology to enhance learning. She works with government and educational organizations to develop innovative teaching practices in order to improve learning outcomes and better prepare the youth for life and work in the 21st century.
